Bruce Saltzer
Bruce has spent more than 25 years working as an advocate for persons with disabilities and other human service needs. For the past seven years, Bruce has served as the Executive Director of the Association of Community Human Service Agencies. Prior to the formation of ACHSA, Bruce was the first full-time Executive Director of the Association of Community Mental Health Agencies. Bruce also worked for many years as the Executive Director of Area Board 10 on Developmental Disabilities, a state agency responsible for monitoring the delivery of services to persons with developmental disabilities in Los Angeles County. Bruce began his career as an attorney with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, which included time spent as an advocate representing parents of children with special needs. Bruce received his law degree from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. degree from the Claremont Graduate School.
Amanda Lopez
Amanda comes to ACHSA from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Budget Office, where she helped the Department integrate budget and performance information and managed the Department’s Annual Plan and Report. While at HHS, Amanda also served as a Program Analyst for both the Head Start Bureau and the Children's Bureau. At the Children's Bureau, she reviewed States' Title IV-B Annual Progress and Services Reports to identify best practice examples and training needs. Prior to working for HHS, Amanda worked at the Michigan Department of Human Service, where she managed the Education and Training Voucher program, a one million dollar Federal grant making available education scholarships to foster youth pursuing post-secondary education. She also evaluated state child welfare outcomes. On a personal note, Amanda's parents have been foster parents for many years. Amanda is a graduate of Purdue University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree, with Honors, in Law and Society. Amanda also received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan, with a Concentration in Social Policies and Program Evaluation.
Wendy Wang
Adam Dewey
Adam previously served as an Executive Intern at the Office of New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson where he conducted an independent research project on streamlining the State’s affordable housing delivery system. A graduate of Pomona College, Adam earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) and completed a Minor in Spanish after having spent a semester studying abroad in Madrid, Spain.
Marissa Minna Lee
Marissa comes to us with an already impressive background, even though she has just graduated from UCLA, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Marissa was the undergraduate representative, selected from a competitive applicant pool, to the Student Health Advisory Committee. She worked as a Technical Specialist at the UCLA College Library Instructional Computing Commons. She was involved with the Campus Healthcare Reform Committee. Also while at UCLA, Marissa was on the Dean's List and received numerous scholarships, including an Alumni Association Scholarship and a National Merit Scholarship.
